What we check
While the tub is drained, we take a visual look at the shell, plumbing, jets, and accessible equipment for anything obviously wrong — cracks, leaks, corrosion, or damage we can see. We'll tell you plainly what we notice.
Inherited a hot tub with the house?
You didn't pick this hot tub, and you probably didn't get a manual with it. We drain it, purge the plumbing, clean it, refill it, and balance it — then walk you through what you actually have, in plain language, with photos.

The reset itself
Whatever the previous owner left behind goes out.
A professional line-flush pulls hidden biofilm out of the plumbing — the single most common thing an unknown tub is hiding.
A real scrub, not a rinse.
Clean water in, from a system we've now actually looked at.
Sanitizer, pH, and alkalinity brought into range before we leave.
This is the same physical process as our standard Drain & Clean — this page adds the new-homeowner walkthrough around it.
The part most new owners never see
Filters vary by brand and model, and a previous owner's filter may not even be the correct size for the tub. We pull it, identify what it actually is, and tell you honestly whether it needs a rinse, a deep clean, or a replacement — no guessing, no universal-fit assumptions. See the full Filter Cleaning & Replacement service if yours needs more than a clean.
What all those buttons do
Every spa's control panel is a little different — temperature settings, jet pumps, filtration cycles, and (if you have one) a Frog @ease or FreshWater Salt system. We walk you through what your specific panel does and how to run it day to day, so you're not guessing at settings a manual never showed up for.
What we look at — and what we don't promise
While the tub is drained, we take a visual look at the shell, plumbing, jets, and accessible equipment for anything obviously wrong — cracks, leaks, corrosion, or damage we can see. We'll tell you plainly what we notice.
A licensed electrical or mechanical inspection, a warranty, or a promise that a hidden fault won't surface later. If something looks like it needs a repair specialist, we'll say so and point you in the right direction rather than guess at a fix outside our scope.
Getting the water right from day one
We balance the water fully before we leave, and if the tub needs a complete fresh-start set of chemicals, we can add the $129 startup chemical package — the standard products a fresh fill needs to get balanced and stay that way. From there, we point you to our Hot Tub Water Care Guide — the same beginner walkthrough we send every new customer to, covering testing, dosing, and a weekly care rhythm so you're not starting from zero.
Priced like a Drain & Clean, because it is one
This service is a full Drain & Clean plus a hands-on owner tutorial: $379, plus sales tax and a trip fee based on your location, quoted before we start. Add the $129 startup chemical package if your tub needs a full fresh set of chemicals. Full pricing context on the cost guide.
Happy to share what we see
If you'd like a few photos from the visit — the shell before and after, the fresh fill, or anything specific you're curious about — just ask and we're glad to send them. It's a courtesy we're happy to offer for a tub you're just getting to know, not a formal report included with every visit. See real examples of past visits in our before & after gallery.
Set expectations up front
We're not a licensed home inspector, electrician, or spa repair technician performing a certified pre-purchase inspection. If you need that level of certified sign-off before or after closing, this service isn't a substitute for it. What we do is get the tub clean, balanced, and understood — and tell you plainly if we see something that belongs in front of a repair specialist.
The easiest way to start
Send photos of the spa, the equipment panel, and any visible model sticker to 253-468-2888. It helps us show up prepared, even if you can't tell us much more than "it came with the house." Serving new homeowners across the South Sound, including Puyallup.
Common questions
Yes. Text us a few photos of the spa, the equipment panel, and any visible model sticker, and we can usually get a good sense of what we're working with before we arrive — and we identify it fully on site either way.
No. This is a cleaning and reset service with a visual walkthrough, not a licensed repair inspection. We'll tell you what we can see and what looks off, but we don't diagnose electrical or mechanical failures, and we don't guarantee we'll catch every issue a hidden fault could cause.
That's exactly what this service is for. A full drain, jet-line purge, detail, fresh fill, and rebalance handles water that's been sitting or neglected — the same process as our standard Drain & Clean.
It's $379 plus tax and a trip fee: a full Drain & Clean plus a hands-on owner tutorial on running and maintaining your new spa. If the tub needs a full fresh-start chemical set, we can add the $129 startup chemical package.
